The mobile industry comes together every year for Mobile World Congress, where over 2,500 businesses from the communications and connectivity sectors demonstrate their latest products and technologies. 2023 saw satellite connectivity emerge as one of the key themes and our client, Bullitt, had a new smartphone with integrated satellite connectivity and a Bluetooth satellite dongle that needed to stand out in a very noisy crowd.

This project began months before the event itself, from developing an eye catching, storytelling stand, securing thought leadership speaker slots during the event to a comprehensive media pre-briefing program, meticulous planning and coordination was essential. In addition multiple partner brand stands hosted the devices and messaging, while multi-lingual face to face PR interviews were managed throughout the show. Over 200 pieces of earned PR and social media were generated with a genuine world’s first innovation headline, 15+ ‘Best in Show’ awards and we even won the coveted GLOMO Best in Show.

To ensure we caught the eye of some of the 88,000 event visitors the stand was amplified by endurance athlete Jamie Ramsay, who cycled 272 km from his home in France to the event in Spain – over the snowy Pyrenees – staying in touch via satellite messaging to deliver the first device directly to the stand.

The sight (and smell!) of Jamie cycling through suited and booted tech execs certainly turned heads and was the final piece in an engaging and immersive stand and demo experience.
